I know a lot of families that are all boy families. There's something about where I live... I don't know what it is, but there are a bunch of us. I was sitting with another of the "boy moms" I know last week and we were having a conversation about it. She said that when people find out that she has three boys, they give her that look that all of us boy-only moms get and ask about the craziness of her house. She said that it's not that bad at her house, but my family comes to mind.
We really are that family. The one with four truly fearless boys. The ones that are not afraid of getting hurt and not afraid to take the highest jump on their skis or bike. Definitely not afraid to take the dare. Not afraid of being the smallest kid on the football team lined up against the biggest. So not afraid to try a new sport when other kids on the team have been playing it for years. Not afraid to run after their brother in a snowstorm and get driven back home in a police cruiser. Not afraid of being seen in the ER twice in one month.

On the way out the door this morning, Taylor asked me if I'd ever posted the picture of his big jump. He did the jump with the sole purpose of having a shot of him getting big air. I just didn't get the shot. I did get the takeoff and so I'm sharing it. Not because it was terribly impressive, he ended up crumpled at the bottom of this twenty foot hill in tears, and asking while sobbing if I'd gotten a good picture. It's all about the challenge, and none of them are afraid to step up to it.
We are the family of no fear. (Except for me. I live in a little bit of fear of what they'll do every single day.) Just don't look at their hair and sing "Ch-ch-ch-chia..."

I can only imagine the fear you live in on a daily basis. But good for your boys...and good for you for not holding them back.
you.are.awesome.
You SO should have told that story differently. (Afraid or not) It should have gone something like...."I missed the shot, but here is the take off. It was great. He did a flip in the air and landed with such manly style." Just a suggestion.
I am with you though. I would live in fear too. But, your boys are studs! And at least they will never have periods!!!
You ARE that family. And I love it.
Great picture of Taylor. Wow.
Beautiful! I am a mum to two boys so I know all about that fearlessness!
My boys are only 2 and 4, so I haven't experienced it fully yet, but I know I'm in for some scary situations in the future.
Thank you for the kind comments on my blog - if you need any more book recommendations then just let me know!
